Sharing Some Mel Life – TV/Movies

Let me see how quick and dirty I can condense the last year or so…

Around the end of 2009, I decided to check out the modeling industry (yet again) to see if I wanted to do some modeling. I’ve played with the idea several times in the past, but it just never seemed like a realistic goal. Anyway, removing the pretense that the only successful models are full-time models I decided to just go for it. Shortly after realizing how much I enjoyed the process, I decided one way I could build longevity would be to try my hand at acting. I thought maybe I could do some commercial work. (I absolutely love insurance commercials! But, I digress… that’s another post.) Continue reading

Pushing Through the Day

Yesterday was another day, backed by another day, backed by another one and so on. For those that read regularly, you know that I’ve been a little out of sorts more often than not lately, but thank God the days keep coming.

Anyway, I walked away with a new transmission among other repairs and a new client. Go Melanie! Continue reading

Psychology of Fashion with Nina’s Couture

I reached out to Nina Gleyzer when I came across her designs on the internet. I could tell at first glance she was not the typical Atlanta-based designer and I wanted to know more. I guess I could have googled Nina to find out additional information about her, but why? I was sure that my search would result in the typical mundane interview which you find on the most average of people. “Award-winning couture designer Nina Gleyzer is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia. With a PhD in Fashion Design her passion has graced the runways of New York and numerous magazine publications while she makes her home in Atlanta, Ga.” See what I mean? Or does that do it for you? Do her accomplishments open your mind to her vision of fashion? She would challenge you to look deeper.
