Flat-line, Safe Asphyxiation and Louie the Parrot

We should start with the etymology of the EKG. It’s derived from the Greek word electro, because it is related to electrical activity, cardio, Greek word for heart, and graph, a Greek root meaning “to write”. As a EKG, I surf the internet electronically, come across interesting tidbits of information (things that speak to my heart) and record them for use or evaluation at a later time. See? That makes a little sense, but why did I say, “I think”?

Because, I flat-lined last week. I don’t think EKG’s can flat-line. Continue reading

reflection Melanie Richardson model actress writer primarythoughts.netFor those that follow me on twitter, I dove head first into thoughts about life and how we navigate life yesterday. It was just a brief moment, but today I’ve decided that I want to continue the conversation. And you know I usually try and write something with a beginning, middle and thought provoking conclusion… but I’m not going to tax myself with that for these posts. I don’t know how long this will last or even where it will end.

A couple of years ago, I was going through a period of growth which of course was forced upon me by my life choices and dealing with the results of those decisions. I can’t truly describe the experience, but during that time the best description I could come up with was that it felt like I was in a flood. I questioned EVERYTHING. Within that process I found out a lot about myself and the choices that I make AND how they have molded my life. Even though I logically knew this massive period of growth and understanding wouldn’t last forever, I did question how long it would last. Continue reading
