What is the deal?

I’ve missed you all, not sooo much, but a whole bunch!!! So, I’ve come to drop a few tidbits.

What is the deal?

  1. I’ve been MIA! Well, not really, but I haven’t been posting too much lately. I bop in and out of fb and twitter trying to keep in touch with everyone and I miss our conversations. :-( The deal is… that I’m building a new website and it’s a learning experience. There  have been some good breakthroughs :-D Like when finally figured out how I wanted to structure the site. Some bad :-| The point in which I wanted to throw my computer across the dining room table because I spent 4 days building a page that I inevitably had to delete. And you know… there’s always primary thoughts. Me trying to keep that balance somewhere between the two. But, with all that being said I hope to be up and writing consistently in September! Whoo-hoo!! Yay!!!
  2. Now, I don’t get this one. Here’s the deal and this is strictly from a woman’s point of view. I’ve noticed that when women enter their 30′s and they have little relationship experience and/or few prospects for entering into a long-term committed relationship they Continue reading

Fatal System Error

So, this post has nothing to do with my “safe asphyxiation” series. I guess that’s the name that wins by default, because I can’t think of anything else. I’m still working on completing the list I dug up, so pray for me.

This morning I read a post from a blog that I read from time to time in which the writer discussed how she was able to see “the motivation behind the actions of the people” around her. She went on to explain how this ability sucks to an extent, especially in dating scenarios. In the past she’s kept people in her circle that shouldn’t be there, because she understands why they do what they do. Her post brought back a memory of an analogy that I often use…

FatalError Melanie Richardson primarythoughts.net model actress writerYou go to buy a computer. Of course, you want the best computer available and you have your list of needs, wants and nice-to-haves. You arrive at the store, pull out your list and do your comparison. You check with the cashier on how the return policy works and you’re out the door with your fabulous new computer. After a couple of days or weeks with your newly purchased technology you get a message:

“Fatal Error. An Error Has Been Encountered That Has Prevented Setup from Continuing” Continue reading

Can you be monogamous and not committed?

Yes, I’m still publishing some of these older writings, this one seemed like a great follow up to my last – I wrote this in June of 2009. My how time flies! Enjoy :)

scooby doo Melanie Richardson @ primarythoughts.netI guess my question stems off a recent conversation that I had with a friend of mine. He asked me what I wanted in a relationship and off my tongue rolled, “I want a monogamous relationship, but not a commitment.” After I said it, I made the Scooby Do sound… LOL.

Once I started explaining my statement, it made more sense. What I said was actually what I meant. I explained that when it comes to sex, I have a commitment to myself. I, for numerous reasons, choose not to sleep with multiple people at the same time. Continue reading
