Does that offend you? #astupidassquestion

Hmm… where to start? Well, how about we jump right in? What’s our topic? Race/Ethnicity

I could add some of the other discriminatory factors that people use and come up with some fictitious scenarios, but why when I have real life examples.

As most know, I’m frequently asked “What are you?” I look like everyone and no one at all, so people are inclined to ask questions. I’m comfortable with it and it’s not going to end… it’s “par for the course” as they say. Anyway, it’s the “Does that offend you?” question that I’m re-examining now.

Maybe I’m just confused…

Race. Are we suppose to highlight it or not? Are we suppose to talk about it or not? Is the fight raging on or is it over? Is any publicity good publicity? Does it at a minimum get people to think about choices, life, decisions, experiences, perceptions? Maybe not… maybe it continues to grind people further into their constricted views of life *sigh*. If ethnicity is in the news it’s good… no it’s bad… maybe bad means good? Maybe I just confused…
