Word of the Day: Disgruntled

Dis is actually a word. I thought it was just slang. I’d never thought about it before, but I checked and it is an actual word.

I looked up a couple of words today to write about. Frustrated, lurid and mood all were researched, but I found the etymology of disgruntled to be the most interesting. Not really sure how lurid became part of the process, but it popped up in there while I was reading something.

Word of the Day: Insatiable

I decided I would pick a word today and write from it. So, that’s what I’m doing. I think it will be fun. You know I love words. It’ll be interesting to see where we end up. I think.

N eedless to say, I haven’t been posting as much lately. Not really sure why, just haven’t had too much to say. Have you ever thought about “needless to say”? Why say that? Why not just use “obviously”. If you need less to say because the facts are staring you dead in your face, it’s obvious that “obviously” uses fewer letters and it’s only one word. Much more precise. It seems it would trump “needless to say” in all situations.

S o, I’ve been listening to a lot of old rap lately. When I woke up this morning, my brain immediately started up with “These are the tales, the freaky tales… These are the tales that I tell so well…” That’s not a song that I’ve even heard in the last 10 years.
