Poetic Thoughts: I Hope This Clears Things Up!

Soooo…. last week I wrote “My Gilded Silhouette Too Far To See“. There has been such a response to the meaning of the poem that I’ve decided to share. Most of you could tell that it was personal in nature, but that was just about the only thing yall got right! This poem caused people to come out the woodwork! People who were too busy to respond with a “Merry Christmas” or “Happy New Year” came sniffing around to see what was going on! LOL! No need to worry though, I’m more than o.k. and there’s no need to feel sorry for me. Continue reading

Poetic Thoughts: My Gilded Silhouette Too Far To See

Eyes closed
I breathe deep
Baroque, the fragrance
Isochronized waves
Delightful to my mind
Tears fall
It’s mine, His promise to me

Medicinal, the melody
Primed form
Harmonic my body
Chest lade
It’s mine, His promise to me

Dulcet, the trifle
Selected pith
Sweet to my soul
Lips bound
It’s mine, His promise to me

Luscious, the cloth
Authentic being
Enfold my spirit
Head pounds
It’s mine, His promise to me

Constant, the blessing
God and I
Cleared purpose
Pure to me
I see simply
Eye open

Why do you do what you do?

Why do you get up in the morning? What floats your boat? Do you do that to make your living? Or have you made sure that your work schedule allows enough time for you to love your life? What are you doing to make a difference? What is your purpose in life? Why do you do what you do?

Me? It’s all about connections. I love people! I love listening, watching, learning, building, comforting people! A virtual acquaintance wrote:

Hi Melanie. Wow! I love your portfolio. I have never had so much interest & excitement & fun reading someones portfolio. I wish we were nearby neighbors…
I would boast that I lived in the same City as “Melanie Richardson”

I don’t know if you’ll get this message cause of how super busy you are, so I’m chancing it. Basically, yes you are MUCH more than your “ass”. It’s not debatable when I say you are one beautiful & stunning woman & it’s obvious that your body is jaw-dropping amazing & well take care of. But outer body appearance doesn’t completely define a real model. A real model has skill, is photogenic, can be versatile with expressions, poses & has confidence shining through their eyes…..
you have all these things, your absolutely gorgeous & professional & I love it!

I also think there’s so much emphasis on beauty that people forget to build up & beautified themselves insides. One day we will look like grandparents right? As humans, our perspectives need to change. If we work overtime on our inward beauty, our behavior will naturally look beautiful externally, (whatever a man thinks so is he)… the eyes are the gateway to the soul & if you stare at the eyes & countenance of the man, you’ll soon see the mans heart. Having self worth & great confidence is important. It’s evident that you has these qualities. From what I read & see, I’m convinced that you are such an awesome person!

I’m a writer myself. I focus lots on poetry & such. So when I say this, I truly mean it. I’m giving you a standing ovation for your writings on “Men! Ima need you to… ” & “From My Father’s Knee” & “He is…”. Many wows to you Melanie! I love how you communicate articulately & yet simplistically. Great work!

May God cuddle you with perfect love,
S.

All the best to you,
God bless you huge.
S.B.

Isn’t that great? May God cuddle you with perfect love! Wow! Wow! This is what it’s all about. It’s really not that complicated – we make it so. Just reach out to people and meet them where they are. Lend a hand, an ear, a swift kick in the tushy, extend whatever little bit of yourself you have to offer in whatever way you can. Period.

*Should I explain the reference to me being more than my a$$? Nah, another time.
